Athletics Teams: Building Character, Confidence, and Leadership

girls academyAt New Lifehouse Academy, athletics are much more than an extracurricular activity—they are a vital part of our students’ life-changing and character-building journey. Sports provide a dynamic environment where young women can grow emotionally, spiritually, and socially, developing life skills that will serve them well beyond their time with us.

As proud members of the Oklahoma Christian School Athletic Association, New Lifehouse Academy teams compete against schools of similar size and skill level, allowing our girls to experience healthy, appropriate levels of competition. Currently, students have the opportunity to participate in varsity basketball, volleyball, and track—and over the years, our teams have brought home numerous awards and regional championships, a reflection of their dedication, growth, and teamwork.

However, at New Lifehouse, we value much more than trophies. Participation in team sports offers struggling young women a chance to rebuild confidence, learn resilience, and practice perseverance in real-time. Through both victories and challenges on the court and field, girls learn the importance of hard work, communication, accountability, and emotional control—lessons that directly translate into healthier relationships, improved academics, and stronger leadership abilities.

Few schools for girls facing behavioral challenges offer a competitive sports program, but at New Lifehouse Academy, we see it as essential. Athletics teach character, discipline, teamwork, resilience, and leadership — key life skills that build confidence, promote healing, and prepare our students for lasting success.

Our teams are led by dedicated New Lifehouse staff members, many of whom have extensive experience competing and coaching at the high school and collegiate levels. These coaches don’t just focus on athletic skill—they serve as personal mentors, modeling Christ-like leadership and investing deeply in the personal and spiritual development of every athlete. They walk alongside the girls, offering encouragement, correction, and support, helping each student understand that true success is measured not just by the scoreboard, but by the strength of their character and the integrity of their effort.

At New Lifehouse Academy, athletics play a crucial role in the healing process—helping students rediscover their strengths, build genuine friendships, and embrace their God-given potential as leaders, teammates, and confident young women ready to impact the world.

Should you need help finding ranches for troubled boys, or adoption failure, we can help guide you toward strong options for your teen girl. New Lifehouse Academy is a Christ-centered boarding school for struggling teenage girls, designed to address behavioral challenges, low motivation, and academic setbacks through faith-based mentoring, biblical discipleship, and structured academics. This residential program provides a disciplined and supportive environment where girls can reset direction, build responsibility, and develop lasting character. Often compared to therapeutic boarding schools and other residential programs for troubled teens, New Lifehouse Academy emphasizes personal mentoring, accountability, and consistent daily structure rather than clinical models, helping students improve behavior, strengthen decision-making, and regain confidence. Daily mentoring, academic focus, and life skills development work together to build self-control, respect, and purpose. For families seeking a structured boarding school for troubled girls focused on character development, accountability, and real-world growth, New Lifehouse Academy offers a clear and proven path to lasting change.
