Benefits for troubled girls can be found at HLHA’s all-girl boarding school.

New Lifehouse Academy is not like other institutions in Colorado, in that it lacks the feel of an institution, instead offering a loving, relaxing atmosphere where residents feel safe and at ease, while being highly supervised. This has been demonstrated to be the setting in which teenagers can achieve the largest measure of success. If your teenager is exhibiting depression, anxiety, lack of self-confidence, trauma, or substance abuse issues, our program’s staff is able to face these struggles and help them to heal.    Providing comfortable and relaxed program is necessary for helpful therapy. If girls do not feel relaxed and safe, they are not able to be as honest as they need to be. Our campus and therapists will get to the core issues that are leading to unhealthy and problematic behaviors.

Girls struggling in their education can also discover emotional and behavioral recovery with proper support and mentoring.

The academic program offered at New Lifehouse Academy is especially created with troubled teens in mind. We understand that troubled teens typically have fallen behind in academics and are in need of specialized academic assistance. They need to get caught up and back on track. While academic success is, of course, the ideal, this program is structured to deal with the specialized emotional and behavioral needs of struggling teenagers.     For troubled girls, personal work is required to heal dysfunctional thought cycles that lead to many of the struggles teens are experiencing. Only focusing on surface issues like behavior and education will not be enough in terms of effecting a genuine, lasting turnaroun in these teenagers. In fact, after the emotional and spiritual elements of these teenager’s difficulties are treated, they often straighten out in other areas, including academics and behavior. Moreover, they need plenty of time to practice their new thinking, in a place where their missteps are pointed out.

Alcohol abuse in teenagers in Grand Junction, Colorado can be a overwhelming issue. For non-addictive behaviors, we can help!

Girls involved with substance abuse or who are undergoing emotional issues will commonly avoid physical activities, which are good and appropriate for them. At HLHA, we encourage a regaining of their natural interest in recreation and the outdoors. Keeping teens physically challenged gains fitness and confidence, which are essential additions to the therapy students receive.    Students at this school also learn applicable, hands-on work skills. This teaches responsibility and accountability, as well as building self-esteem. The girls are taught to match work and fun, building a practical and admirable work ethic and lifestyle. This goes on into their life after graduation, enabling them to become helpful, productive members of society.    Within NLHA’s secure and compassionate program, girls are able to gain principles, and find God. This is the only real technique for teens to overcome the selfishness and self-centeredness that causes many of their problematic behaviors, from addiction to other behavioral disorders. Within a supportive structure, and immersed in helpful influences, students gain a new, healthy peer group that can hold them accountable and support them in their new, moral way of living.
