This has been demonstrated to be the background in which teenagers experience the highest measure of success. If your teenager is exhibiting depression, anxiety, low self-confidence, trauma, or substance abuse problems, our program’s staff is qualified to address these problems and help them to heal.    Creating comfortable and relaxed school is crucial for helpful therapy. If girls do not feel at-home and cared for, they are not able to be as open as they need to be. Children struggling in their education can also achieve emotional and behavioral recovery with appropriate support and mentoring.

The educational program taught at New Lifehouse Academy is especially built with troubled teens in mind. We understand that dysfunctional teens often have lagged behind in school and are in need of specialized academic assistance. They need to get caught up and back on track. Although academic success is, of course, the ideal, this program is structured to address the unique emotional and behavioral needs of troubled teenagers.     For troubled girls, personal work is essential to heal problematic thought cycles that are at the root of many of the problems teens are experiencing. Just addressing external issues like actions and academics will not suffice in terms of effecting a true, enduring change in these teenagers. In fact, once the emotional and spiritual elements of these teenager’s difficulties are addressed, they often straighten out in other parts of their lives, including academics and behavior. Moreover, they need months of time to practice their new thinking, in a place where their missteps are pointed out.

Keeping teens physically active increases fitness and confidence, which are essential additions to the counseling students experience.    Girls at this school also learn useful, practical work skills. This teaches responsibility and accountability, as well as increasing self-esteem. The girls discover to balance work and recreation, leading to a reliable and robust work ethic and lifestyle. This carries on into their life after graduation, allowing them to become viable, productive members of society.    Within NLHA’s supervised and supportive program, girls are able to learn principles, and discover God. This is the only proven method for teens to be rid of the selfishness and self-centeredness that causes the majority of their problematic patterns, from addiction to other conduct disorders. Within a supportive structure, and surrounded by helpful influences, students obtain a new, healthy peer group that will hold them accountable and support them in their new, principled way of living.

Alamogordo is the county seat of Otero County and a city in south-central New Mexico, United States. A desert community lying in the Tularosa Basin, it is bordered on the east by the Sacramento Mountains. It is the nearest city to Holloman Air Force Base. The population was 35,582 as of the 2000 census. Alamogordo is known for the Atari video game burial of 1983. It is also famous for its connection with the Trinity test, the first explosion of a nuclear (atomic) bomb.
Humans have lived in the Alamogordo area for at least 11,000 years. The present settlement established in 1898 to support the construction of the El Paso and Northeastern Railroad, is an early example of a planned community. The city was incorporated in 1912. Tourism became an important economic factor with the creation of White Sands National Monument in 1934. During the 1950-60s, Alamogordo was an unofficial center for research on pilot safety and the developing United States’ space program.
Alamogordo is a charter city with a council-manager form of government. City government provides a large number of recreational and leisure facilities for its citizens, including a large park in the center of the city, many smaller parks scattered through the city, a golf course, Alameda Park Zoo, a network of walking paths, Alamogordo Public Library, and a senior citizens’ center. Gerald Champion Regional Medical Center is a nonprofit shared military/civilian facility that is also the hospital for Holloman.
As the economic center of Otero County, Alamogordo has a primarily service and retail economy that draws its customers from tourists and from active-duty and retired military personnel. The city is accessible through three U.S. Highways and scheduled commercial air service at Alamogordo-White Sands Regional Airport. Holloman Air Force Base (including a German Air Force Tactical Training Center) and White Sands Missile Range are two nearby major military bases. The city also has a public school system, a branch of New Mexico State University, and the New Mexico School for the Blind and Visually Impaired, making education also a significant contributor to the economy. A city’s gross receipts tax funds incentives for new businesses, which are recruited by the nonprofit Otero County Economic Development Council.
