Here’s How Anxiety Disorder Looks:
We can help your teenager in her battle with Anxiety Disorder, which is sometimes called Generalized Anxiety Disorder. Full-blown attacks can feel paralyzing to those who are suffering this chronic condition, which is distinguished by an incapacitating intensity of fear. It may be identified by panic attacks, specific phobias provoked by particular situations, and may include social anxiety disorder or obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). It can appear with physical symptoms (such as a racing pulse, profuse sweating, sleep problems) or be simply mental and emotional.
Typically, a diagnosis typically requires that the anxiety have lasted for six months, at a minimum.
New Lifehouse – Offering a Unique Approach for Your Daughter With Anxiety Disorder.
It is essential that Anxiety Disorder be diagnosed and treated, keeping the anxiety level from building to the point of clinical depression, avoiding self-medicating with drugs, alcohol or other injurious behaviors. Parents often find it hard to comprehend the underlying causes that elicit such responses in their child, but with early diagnosis and professional help, Anxiety Disorder is generally treated with fairly high rates of success.
Your son’s treatment approach might include one or more different therapies. Cognitive behavioral therapy is quite effective treatment for high-level anxiety. That approach focuses on recognizing thought patterns that lead to anxiety, and then blocking damaging behaviors by coaching her for new responses to those triggering events.
Some children benefit from medication to help in dealing with anxiety, although others find the side effects too difficult to handle.
New Lifehouse – Raising Your Daughter’s Vision to See Greater Possibilities in Life.
New Lifehouse is a 915-acre working ranch in beautiful Northeastern Oklahoma. Our facility is a 12-15 month residential program accredited with Teen Challenge USA. The Cross Christian Academy is our private, accredited, year round school that the girls attend while at New Lifehouse. Our program offers a very structured environment to help foster growth in each of our student’s lives. We use a level system to help teach the students appreciation, gratitude, responsibility, submission to authority, self-control, leadership, time-management, and a strong work ethic. The first levels are very controlled but as the students improve and progress, they are awarded higher levels. The higher levels allow for more privileges, freedom, and responsibilities.
During a student’s stay at New Lifehouse, each student will have the opportunity to learn various vocational skills such as welding, basic carpentry, plumbing, lawn care, fence repair & building, livestock care, and other ranch duties. The students are also involved with various community service projects. This aspect of the program is used to assist the students in building a strong work ethic to enable them to be successful in their communities, families, and future careers.
